MB Dressage is proud to be able to offer their clients top quality lungeing equipment from one of Germany’s leading suppliers.

The idea behind this service came from our own survey, when we discovered how few people actually lunged with proper equipment.

It was even more worrying to discover that not many riders or even trainers have got enough  knowledge in how to lunge correctly, which is why we at MB Dressage also specialize in advising our clients what to use when lungeing, as well as showing them how to.

We have listed our best selling items below; however please do not hesitate to contact us regarding other items not listed here. Please also notice that our prices do not include postage and packaging.

Lunge Cavesson in leather

This Cavesson with the added strap which runs from the neck piece, through the browband and down to the noseband helps preventing the noseband from dropping.

Our advice: Cavessons made of nylon are not advisable because of their poor fit. The added strap as described is an absolute essential to ensure that the noseband doesn’t drop. We only use cavessons for horses with very sensitive mouths as well as for horses, which tend to tilt.

Lunge Roller

Polypropylene webbing with artificial lamb’s wool padding. Buckles on both sides. 10 D-rings and 1 D-ring on the belly girth.

Our advice: We sometimes recommend putting rollers over the saddles when lungeing depending on which lungeing equipment is used at the time. Leather rollers don’t always mold that well to the saddle.

Colour: Black

Size: pony, cob/full

Price: £ 50

Lauffer Reins

These leather reins are multifunctional and help to invite the horse to drop the neck as well as encouraging them to give in through the poll.

Our advice: Brilliant lungeing tool to help the horses backs to lift more as well as inviting the horses to track up better. Also very useful to use over trotting and canter poles.

Price: £ 59

Side reins (without rubber rings or elasticated inserts)

Did you know that side reins with rubber rings or elasticated inserts have been banned in Germany from shows since the beginning of 2008?

Our advice: These plain leather side reins are ideal to show the horses to give in more in the poll, without disturbing the bit action.

Colours: Black, White

Size: Standard size

Price: £ 49

HO-Lungeing Aid

Our advice: This piece of lungeing equipment is not advisable for riders/people who are not experienced in lungeing! Brilliant for well balanced young horses or well trained older horses. It will not be suitable for stiff horses or horses who haven’t yet learned to accept the bit!

Colour: Black

Size: Standard size

Price: £ 35

HO-Lungeing Aid Sleeve

Artificial lamb’s wool sleeve which holds the reins together between the front legs.

Our advice: The Ho-Lungeing Aid should not be used without the sleeve to prevent the reins from rubbing!

Price: £ 12

Bungee

A special elastic band, which gently shows the horse the way into a submissive outline without any force or restrictions.

Our advice: The Bungee is an ideal aid to show the learning rider the feel of the horse accepting the contact. Should only be recommended by experienced trainers and only used for flat work schooling. We recommend unclipping it in walk, as it can cause the horse to over bend. The Bungee is not a lungeing device.
