ABOUT MARKUS

Markus Bauer is of Danish nationality and did all his equestrian training and exams in Germany. Wolfgang Schade, who is the dressage chief of the Holsteiner Federation, took him on as his Bereiter student.

After becoming a fully qualified German Bereiter, Markus became the Bereiter of Heike Kemmer and then the late George Theodorescu who was probably one of the best dressage trainers the world ever knew.

Markus came to England in 1997 and joined Longdean stud, where he specialized in training and competing their mostly home bred Hanoverians up to Prix st. George level, and represented Longdean stud at several Regional and National championships. Markus has also represented Denmark at several international events.

Markus has run his own dressage training yard since 2001 from where he trains dressage, event and showjumping riders on their own horses as well as taking horses in for training and competing clients' horses. He also prepares clients horses for sale.

Clinics can be arranged throughout the country and abroad.

He specializes in bringing the best out of each horse and rider he teaches, and has helped many riders up the levels and rankings from regional to international level.

Markus is also running a German overseas business which main goal is to find suitable horses for clients in the U.K. Whether you are looking for a dressage, showjumper or a leisure horse. Because of the often over priced horses in the U.K. he is able to offer and find horses abroad sometimes up to 40% cheaper.

From 2007 Markus and his wife Gaynor will be running MB Dressage together as a wife and husband team. Together Gaynor and Markus import horses from Germany to make sure there is always an outstanding selection of horses for sale at their U.K. yard.

Markus has over the past year dedicated more time teaching at clinics and doing demonstrations throughout the U.K.
